Architectural Vision & RMOW Density Strategy
The client sought to modernize and expand a long-held family alpine retreat. The goal was to maximize allowable zoning density to add functional square footage, create an inviting open-concept layout for entertaining, and fully upgrade all interior finishes highlighted by a custom mudroom, feature fireplace, and a statement backlit powder room.
Structural Engineering & Strata Build
From initial concept and pre-construction planning through structural additions and full interior build:
• Space Expansion: Coordinated with the Strata and Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) to capture unused density, extending the building envelope over the existing deck to expand the main kitchen and dining areas.
• Additional Living Quarters: Extended the roofline and added exterior framing over the garage/entry to construct two new bedroom suites with dedicated bathrooms.
• Functional Additions: Enlarged the main entry into a dedicated ski/outdoor gear mudroom and reconfigured the outdoor patio to feature a covered hot tub area with a sleek steel and glass canopy.
• Full Interior Overhaul: Updated all bathrooms, kitchen, media room, and foyers with custom millwork, premium flooring, integrated lighting controls, new mechanical/electrical systems, and a grand stone fireplace surround.
